The Death Trilogy: The Golden Radiance, The Grand Mausoleum, & Life and Death
Three poems for the price of one. All for the low, low cost of your mortal soul.
The Golden Radiance
The sun shines down
on a small, lone village.
Flowers bloom in the dawn
as the birds sing a melancholy song.
People get out of bed
and perform their morning duties.
Shopping, dressing, going to work.
Another peaceful day
as a lone, golden stranger walks into town,
life sprouting around him.
Screams of terror echo across the village.
The ground splits open
in a golden glow.
Knives rain down like rain.
People drop like flies,
Blood now staining the streets.
The stranger walks.
All weapons are useless.
More blood,
countless death
as the village turns to rubble.
The Grand Mausoleum
A Haunting set of Doors lies before me,
A desolate wasteland around me,
The constant screams of souls echoes across the valley,
I go inside the Mausoleum,
Unaware of the horrors above,
As I walk up, the screams intensify,
Until I finally see Death,
On a scale nobody’s ever seen before.
Life and Death
A hand extends into the fiery flames of hell.
As everything burns into the dark abyss.
As life continues its enchanting spell.
In the past, a bell tolls.
In the present, you are missed.
A hand extends into the fiery flames of hell.
Everywhere I go, I see your soul.
Reminding me of what is remiss.
As life continues its enchanting spell.
It’s no coincidence that your spirit dwells.
A sign that something is amiss.
As your hand extends from the fiery flames of hell.
An unspoken rule now dispelled.
Your spirit close enough to kiss.
I reach out as life continues its enchanting spell.
I grab your hand, as life hisses.
As the abyss calls you back, I keep you held.
As your hand extends out from the fiery flames of hell,
life ends its enchanting spell.
