A distance now between us,

A space that can't be filled,

A void within my heart,

That aches and won't be stilled.

You were a part of me,

A piece of my very soul,

A presence that brought light,

And made my spirit whole.

But now you're gone, moved away,

And though we keep in touch,

It's just not the same as being,

Together, as we used to clutch.

I miss your laugh, your smile,

The way you'd make me feel,

The sound of your voice, so warm,

That could always make me heal.

And as I go about my day,

I can't help but recall,

All the moments that we shared,

And the times that had faded.

But even though you're far away,

And time may try to steal,

The bond that we have built,

Is something that won't repeal.

For in my heart, you'll always be,

A cherished memory,

And though we're apart for now,

You're still a part of me.
