The power of love

It seems like only yesterday earth stood still in time;

From across the room, I beheld your face, solid and sure.

Some say love is written upon the face. In it, truth is revealed.

~

In the depths of my heart, dormant emotions stir hope

long empty of expectation. Could this be the dawn of new affection,

or have I too long hidden in sorrow's grasp to know the difference?

~

Alone in thought, piercing eyes meet mine as if discerning hidden jewels

buried in the deep. My heart is laid bare. Suddenly the heavens open,

a smile beckons brilliant like the sun rising from its chambers,

emanating warmth and wonder adorning a reticent soul.
