The Day After Valentine’s
Was it a thrill or did it go fast down hill

The Day After Valentine’s
The roses lean, their petals bruised,
chocolates halved, their sweetness used.
The ribbons curl, the candles dim—
was love a spark, or just a whim?
Did Cupid’s bow strike true last night,
all flushed with thrill, all laced with light?
Or did it sting, a fleeting thing,
a promise tied on severed string?
The morning hums, the hours sprawl,
life moves ahead, love stands—or falls.
The echoes fade of hearts once bright,
was it for love, or just the night?
