The Dandelion Wish

A poem

A dandelion seed drifting in no particular direction

no certain destination

Just one of many dandelion seeds, every one of them

magical

light and feathery soft

all taken in a different direction

released and carried by the breeze

One dandelion seed catches on a wooden fence

another in the palm of a curious child's hand.

One drifts down between the crevice of a sidewalk

While another finds itself in the hollow of a tree

A field full of dandelions, a wish for everyone

With just a few short blows,

sometimes if we're lucky, one,

we close our eyes and make a dandelion wish
