The Cycle Of Manmade Love

Repeated

Honorable Mention in Villanelle of Regret Challenge
Noir Art

The words we chose cut deeper than a knife

Dissecting the parts that our love lived in

I guess good and bad are all part of life

**

Laying my heart bare, alone in the night

Covered in darkness, exposing my sin

The words we chose cut deeper than a knife

**

The anger we showed filled my heart with fright

Wondering if love could be whole again

I guess good and bad are all part of life

**

More brutal than honest, ne'er black and white

Tearing the flesh, leaving marks where we've been

The words we chose cut deeper than a knife

**

Lessons unlearned as we stir up the fight

Repeated through generations of men

I guess good and bad are all part of life

**

Maybe in time we can make things alright

We tend to forget and fall back again

The words we chose cut deeper than a knife

I guess good and bad are all part of life
