Shrouded
Buried
Dark
-
Words eaten by silence
Words held back hopeless
-
Trying
-
Alone in an empty room
Locked from the outside
-
Water dripping down the walls
Fire won’t light
-
Unshared secrets
Die on the last breath
-
Truth
Mortality
-
Cursed clarity
-
Denial is a spell
That death broke

A quick-written poem inspired by grief. The regret over things unsaid that comes with a death. How isolating grief can be if unprocessed and unshared. What it feels like when we have no one to tell. What another’s death can do to our own sense of safety. A culture that demands we move on fast.
