The planet Earth mostly a sea,
A treacherous environment for one to be,
Many things unknown lurk below,
Threats waiting to deal you in low,
Although, disregarding this consequential feature,
And the pulsing inconvenience of pressure as one dives deeper,
There’s many a thing to marvel at in the ocean,
Things both still and in constant locomotion,
From the cavernous abyss in the great marine trenches,
To the proliferation of life people seldom fail to mention,
And the plethora of coral made in such a way,
They resemble bursting nebulae on a clear summer day,
Perhaps our species needs halving and correcting,
For this cradle of life, worth preserving.
About the Creator
Marty Res
"We all live on borrowed time, which is what gives our lives meaning. To waste life would be a travesty."
Writing poetry and fantastical stories is my way of coping with the world. It's my hope others may enjoy them, to escape for a while.
