The Cost of Gold

How Wealth Kills the Warmth of Humanity

By Zakir UllahPublished 8 months ago 1 min read

Today, the world chases money—

not the quiet warmth of humanity.

Hands that once held kindness

now grasp cold coins,

letting trust slip like sand.

Brothers turn to strangers,

friends become shadows,

all for the weight of gold.

In the race for wealth,

hearts grow heavy,

and the light of compassion flickers,

then dies.

We betray the very souls

that made us human,

killing not just bodies,

but the spirit of togetherness.

Where did we lose our way?

In the hunger for more,

we forgot the beauty

of simply being human.
