The Cosmic Wanderer: A Tale of Silent Contact
An Exploration into the Loneliness of Space and the Faint Echoes of Alien Life

In the silent blanket of the cosmic night,
Launched from Earth with a mission, an unmanned satellite.
A vessel of humanity's unyielding might,
To probe the void for a spark, a sign of life’s resplendent light.
Through the galaxies it soars, a lonely sprite,
Across nebulae, black holes, and stars so bright.
It navigates the void, amidst space-time's flight,
A single beacon, threading through the eternal night.
The great Orion Belt, it passes in its flight,
Past the Milky Way's swirls of radiant white.
Its sensors fine-tuned for an alien invite,
A message in the dark, a beacon in the night.
It dances with comets, in their fiery plight,
Weaves through asteroid fields with agile might.
Yet, the silence of the cosmos, cold and trite,
Echoes through the circuits, a reminder of its solitary fight.
Beyond Jupiter and Mars, past Neptune’s frosty site,
Where the Sun’s warmth fades into the cold twilight,
It sails, a ghost ship in the cosmic night,
A silent watcher, yearning for an alien sight.
Through the silence, a spark! A signal, slight,
Flickers on the screen, a pulse of alien light.
The satellite trembles, a thrill of pure delight,
An echo from the dark, an end to its solitary flight.
An alien message, encoded in the starlight,
A sign of life from a far-off, extraterrestrial site.
It listens, records, in the infinite night,
Preserving each note of this cosmic rite.
Yet, its joy is tinged with an unavoidable fright,
For it's now too far from its home, the Earthly site.
The distance, immeasurable, a never-ending flight,
Is a wall of silence, a barrier of light.
It carries the message, a treasure locked tight,
Yet its voice is lost in the expansive night.
A bearer of news, it's caught in a plight,
A silent messenger, robbed of its might.
The satellite drifts, bearing its secret light,
A wanderer adorned with knowledge too bright.
In its heart, a symphony of an alien night,
Yet bound by distance, forever silent in its flight.
With a signal in its core, and Earth out of sight,
It sails through the cosmos, a star losing its light.
In its silence, there's a story, a lonely satellite,
A tale of contact, and a farewell to the night.
So, it floats in the cosmic sea, an eternal kite,
A silent scribe of an alien's distant invite.
In the grand theatre of the universe, a somber site,
An echo of contact, lost in the infinite night.
