I stand for the Constitution, not the Flag.
Fuck your shallow patriotism - pretending to be more than brave.
Hiding behind jingoistic cotton and polyester taunting,
Rattling loose our liberties, like Confederate hauntings.
Simple minds bow down to simple things.
Pretending to demonstrate "We the People" self-evident dreams.
In your churches the sovereignty of the State is erased,
Secular laws, by dogmatic beliefs in God, are replaced.
An arrogant motto of inconsiderate virtue.
Screams violently "Don't Tread on Me, I Tread on You"
"The South will rise again" you have said without discourse,
"To do what?" Finish the War, and ruin the Union of course.
Every treasonous accusation a confession
A society hopped up on consumption - too apathetic to listen.
Too far gone and corrupt, this experiment is from saving,
Despotism is now all the people are capable of entertaining.
I raised my hand and swore a uniformed oath.
To defend against enemies foreign or domestically close.
So fuck all of you, who believe merely standing for the Flag,
is patriotism, while you watch the U.S. Constitution being gagged.
