The first page, navy
Whole world in outlines
What do I wanna be
When I grow up?
And can I see the lay of the land?
And can I make out mountains?
The second page, pink
Whole worlds in love
I swear it! Have you seen
The light on her skin
And don’t tell me I’m young
And don’t ask and don’t tell and
(how can you tell
if you’re different?)
The third page, hot red
Whole world in contrast
The rights the wrongs
The bursting pride
And I’m right and you’re wrong
And I’m blinded by the light
The fourth page, clear white
Whole world as it is
Humility, complex
A spectrum rich, a gift
And no two things the same
And no one thing the same forever
