The colours of humanity
Within the lines of my poem, I focus on bringing light to my view on the various colours of humanity. Life is the ultimate colouring book, filled with good and bad decisions as an individual as well as society. At the end of the day it is important to realise that positivity begins with our mindset, no matter what dark emotions are within us.

I like to imagine a world filled with colour,
Yet in humanity,
All I see is a mixture of pain and the ultimate greed for hunger.
We are oblivious to Natures’ fluorescent beauty,
But at the hands of capitalism ,
Every man is guilty.
The modern world is conditioned by advanced technology,
Golden manners seem to be lost in translation,
Due to the flaws in the system,
I believe a heart felt apology is owed to our future generations.
Living life through a smoke screen,
This modern world has dimmed me of my light.
Quite honestly,
It is a shame my grandpas’ emerald green eyes no longer shine as bright.
My ivory hands are now trembling,
There is no more white doves.
The silence of loneliness is deafening,
I am left questioning -
What happened to the concept of love?
It is as though the world needs a restart,
We can choose to live in the depths of the shade,
Or we can act from the heart.
The honest act of mankind,
Moving with the motions we tend to overlook,
The simple fact that positivity starts within the mind,
It is clear that our rollercoaster of emotions are an everlasting colouring book.
