I am African,
And that's who I've ever been;
I'm from Motherland,
And I'm proud of my heritage.
You see my colour as a threat,
I see it as beauty;
Beauty is what I see,
And hate is all you give.
I am African with a family;
I want to look into my kids eyes,
And see that brave African lion;
Who isn't hiding from the world.
I want my ancestors,
To look down at me;
And be proud of their descendant,
Who isn't ashamed of her colour.
I am African,
I am black;
I am not any different,
For I am human.
I AM AFRICAN AND I AM PROUD!
