The Colors of Light
My light shines bright and bold I’m told
Even as I’m getting old
Ever-changing light. The light that gives me might
the light that gives me sight.
the light to do what’s right.
With Colors to behold
Even closed eyes can see
indigo, white and gold.
My light has many colors, from the blue of my eyes that sparkle and shine.
To the Aura that clings to my body and soul.
Light bends to help make a rainbow, Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo and Violet.
Sunlight has all the colors of the rainbow.
Blue sky and Sunset and, Aurora Borealis too, colors to delight.
Primary colors always the same
Colors for mood, and best colors to wear
tried and trued
Wear red on fourteenth of February
twenty fifth of December too
colors defining occasions
like red, white and blue
green for saint pat
orange for the hallowed pumpkin
and white wedding gown.
Pink and blue.
Black for sexy and death
And at that last breath
To the light and beyond our souls awake
to sparkle and shine for goodness sake
The light for you the light for me
Colors free for all to see
About the Creator
Vicki Cunningham
I love to write. I have been writing since my early twenties with scads of written material. I have written a screenplay, a book of poems, and countless vignettes inspired by life, love, my children.
