The cold's frosty touch

Giving warmth to the senses

The crisp winter air

Calming all, blanketing all.

Heightening the senses, but

also making us so very blessed

to be spending time together inside,

Inside the warmth of each other's company.

Holiday lights, holiday nights,

a time to slowly wind down

and reflect upon the year

of ups and downs.

The Northern Hemisphere,

The farther and farther up you go,

The more likely there will be

a chance for snow.

Snow flurries, icy lakes,

ice skating ponds,

winter sports awake.

The wintertime, a time to look back

at how far we've come along

and how far we still need to go,

but brightly, glimmering,

shining ourselves towards the future.
