From the beginning,

The clock sets the time,

An infinite keeper,

Of moments sublime.

When thoughts become dreams,

When grains become heaps,

When whispers become shouts,

When steps become leaps.

Counting the minutes,

The clock holds the secret,

A curious architect,

The master of its puppet.

Counting the days,

The clock moves the earth,

An unstoppable force,

Gears rotating since birth.

Counting the years,

The clock owns the key,

A reluctant protector,

Of what it means to be free.

Excellent poem… I like the progression of time & dreams etc.

I love the ode to freedom there at the end. We often feel such a slave to time, but time is really that protector of what it means to be free like you wrote. Love it!
