The Clock That Forgot to Tick

A quiet reflection on time that stands still when the heart can’t move

By Emma Published 6 months ago 1 min read

The hands stood still, the time was gone,

Yet somehow life kept moving on.

A frozen face, a silent chime,

A room suspended out of time.

I watched the world just pass me by,

With dreams that faded, hopes that lie.

The clock once sang of future bright,

But now it sleeps in endless night.

Perhaps one day it ticks again,

And heals the weight of all my pain.

But till that hour, I softly stay,

A soul that lost its yesterday.
