The Chipped Coffee Mug

More Than Just a Mug: A Celebration of Everyday Companions

By Sudipta DPublished 2 years ago 1 min read

Morning (bright and cheery): Rise and shine! A brand new day,

Fresh coffee brewing, chases sleep away.

Mug (cracked and worn): Not again, another jolt too hot,

My handle's aching, another near-drop.

Morning (sheepish): Sorry, buddy, you're a little worse for wear,

Time for a new mug, a sleek, trendy affair.

Mug (defiant): But I held your dreams, your late-night woes,

We conquered deadlines, countless cups in a row.

Morning (nostalgic): You're right, old friend, a bond we've surely grown,

Memories brewed, within this chipped and worn throne.

Mug (steady): One more chance, then? We can weather the storm,

A trusty companion, keeping you warm.

Morning (smiles): Maybe you're right. After all, it's the brew,

Not the vessel, that sees us mornings through.
