The Child Prodigy

A Tale of Tears

By ThePenArtistePublished 2 years ago 1 min read

In a world of whispered marvels, a child of wondrous guise,

Whose mind soared beyond the stars, the limit of the skies.

Their laughter danced with knowledge, their eyes aglow with light,

A prodigy, a cherished dream, a beacon shining bright.

But burdened by the weight of hopes, they bore a heavy load,

Parents' aspirations set so high, an endless, daunting road.

In classrooms filled with promise, where brilliance was their creed,

The child felt both elation and the weight of every need.

Overwhelmed by towering expectations, dreams they could not meet,

The struggle silently began, a battle bittersweet.

Disappointment wove its tendrils in the fabric of their soul,

The gap between their real self and the pedestal, a gaping hole.

With every passing moment, joy turned to bleak dismay,

The prodigy now faltered, their brilliance turned to gray.

Their heart, once filled with passion, now ached with disillusion,

As reality came knocking, shattering the illusion.

The final act, a painful step, a truth they couldn't bear,

To drop the mantle, leave it all, and face the empty stare.

With tears upon their cheeks, they bid the dreams goodbye,

Turning away from scholarly halls, they let out a heavy sigh.

No longer bound by expectations, they chose a different track,

Leaving behind the echoes of their prodigy's flashback.

Though disappointment lingered in the air, a weight now lifted high,

For in their newfound freedom, they found peace and a softened sigh.
