Of Life

Ideas and beliefs
about relationships,
education, job,
and life at large
shielded me
like sodium atom
with shells
that can only be broken
when I loose myself.
I was soft,
so soft
you could cut me with knife
and I would set fire
had you thrown me
into that water.
But I lost mysef
like the electron
on its outer shell
because of a chemistry
that was so strong,
much more stronger
than the covalent bond
which you wanted us
to share.
I found something ionic,
I am stronger now.
You cannot cut me anymore
because I know the secret.
It's in loosing that I find,
it's in giving that I become.
