Believed he was a dog deep inside.

He'd fetch the stick, he'd wag his tail,

And chase the mail with mighty wail.

Confusing barks with meows in tune,

He yearned to join the canine moon.

But oh, dear Whiskers, fur and purr,

You're perfect just the way you are!
