Arrived. To find not the promised land but a vast expanse of staggering depth and rollicking green and jagged red and infinitesimal blue all weaved together like the tapestry of some heavenly "other."

What's contained within is unknowable yet clear as the glacial lake. Hope and wonder and beauty and death and suffering. It could be explored--perhaps should be explored. It's easier to stare in awe and contemplation, easier still to look the other way.

Perhaps the best course of action is to simply close your eyes and jump.

But not today.

I really loved this poem - the arresting first word, the meld of imagery and metaphysics, and the roundness of your structure all hit beautifully. Fantastic job!
