The Canine and Feline Game

My dear feline friend, how do you do?

I write to you to share a tale that's true

About a dog who loved to play

But met a cat who had her own way

It all began on a sunny day

The dog was out, ready to play

He ran and ran, feeling so free

Until he met a cat by a tree

"Hello, cat! What do you say?

Wanna play with me today?"

The cat looked up, unimpressed

And said, "No way, I need my rest"

The dog persisted, he wouldn't give in

He barked and wagged his tail with a grin

But the cat just yawned and stretched her paws

And said, "I'll just watch you from afar"

The dog got bored, he wanted more

He thought of a plan, something to explore

He ran around the tree so fast

The cat couldn't keep up, she was aghast

She tried to climb, but lost her grip

And fell down with a loud "thwip"

The dog laughed and said, "That was funny!

Come on, cat, let's play tag and be sunny!"

But the cat had had enough for one day

She said, "Thanks, dog, but I'll go my way"

The dog was sad, he wanted a friend

But the cat just wanted a peaceful end

And so they parted, with different goals

The dog to play and the cat to doze

But who knows what adventures lie ahead?

Maybe one day they'll meet again and be friends instead!
