The Calming Beach

Nothing feels a surreal and at one with life

I walk alone on the beach;

the sand and sea mix,

feels soothing on my feet.

Lifting my head up,

clouds drift at peace

with the summer's day.

People play, walk, sing,

and run with their dogs.

Where am I?

For I don’t want

this relaxing day

to close its splendor away

till morning.

I see kites high up in the air,

so high I am sure they can touch the sun.

Seagulls fly over,

looking for food.

An ice cream van stops,

and children queue for a milky delight.

The sea is far out,

yet I feel I can touch it.

I pick up a beach stone

and caress its smoothness.

I am lucky to walk here

amongst the universal calm.

I close my eyes

and make a wish

for tomorrow to be

a copy of today.

The seaside is heavenly bliss.

How lucky am I

to be a part of all this?
