The burning of a new woman

Ashes of the old skin

By Tabitha HinkleyPublished 24 days ago 1 min read

A woman becoming who she is supposed to be

Burning away the old concept of who she was

Burning brightly to who she is to be

The ash building around her feet

The simplicity of turning the residue into a beautiful jewel

Opening her flames to the strength inside her that was always there

Shedding her old skin of insecurity and doubt

Allowing her mind to see the growth of flowers in the flame

The flower growing where it should not be blossoming nonetheless

A deeper understanding, a radiance of her complexity

A luminosity of her elevating in an unfit environment

A glow of the goodness that was created from what should be scarred

A scarring from the animosity that contained her

She had a purpose and understanding that blew up wide for her to see

The flame not burning her to the new life but lighting her way

She rose higher just like the flame grasping for the change

Knowing inside that the very core of the fire was who she was to be

She glowed so effulgently for others to see

To guide the lost embodiment of hatred and trauma

The light ushering her to the love and healing

An understanding of how she climbs to view the ash and destruction beneath her

She will be the guiding light for others to follow

inspirational
