I can still hear the 4 train passing by Yankee Stadium

The city has more noise than 20 crowded gymnasiums

The screeching noise of the track, High school boys by the packs

Busy parents clutching to their bags, while their rushing to the cabs

Busy traffic from 161st Street down to 149th street

Grand Concourse, the smell of the city just talks to me

I've went paint balling in Saint Mary's Park, I saw fights in the same place

Young kids smoking weed, and cigarettes they are using it as a gateway

Drug, in The Bronx you might get mugged,

Because these wolves were taught you never stop attacking until they see Blood

In The Bronx we Hustle and get it out of the mud just because

We want to buy those Timberland Boots at Sammy's on Fordham Road

We want to go To Dr. Jay's to on 149th Street to buy some clothes

We Want to Ride around Mount Eden while eating chicken and Fries

Talk to a pretty Latina mama just to see the look in her eyes

See a beautiful Black sista next to her blow me a kiss in the sky

As they both asking me "Baby what kind of car you drive?"

By Mike Von on Unsplash

Do they like me or like my car? To be honest Ill never know

We'll see when my car breaks down, I invite her to take the B train, and she doesn't show

In Between time I'll go get a sandwich at the corner bodega

Or take the train to the Bronx Zoo I guess I'll see you later

From Forrest Projects Soundview I've walked through the toughest parts

Slapped boxed in Clermont, sipped Corona's in Crotona Park

We call the Bronx The Boogie Down, it's the home of Hip Hop

The Home Of Krs- One, Fat Joe Big Pun We cant stop we wont stop

We call Air Force One's Uptowns thats what we wear on our feet

Our crack pavements just represents how long we stayed 10 toes down on the streets

SUV Trucks on Tremont Avenue all the radios blasting in the best way

I love my city from Gun Hill Road to the Cross Bronx Expressway

By Sam LaRussa on Unsplash

Its the city I love, treasure and where my learning got its start

Hopping Trains and buses it all played a part

Where I learned a lot of my loyalty and all of my street smarts

Bronx, New York I love you, you will forever be in my heart

Lord Tariq and Peter Gunz-"Uptown Baby" A song that describes my poem
