The Broken Mirror

Shards of Sorrow

By HuzeffaPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

The mirror on the wall has shattered,

Into a million pieces it's scattered,

Each shard reflecting a broken dream,

A story of pain, or so it seems.

The beauty that was once so clear,

Now lies in ruins, no longer near,

And in its place, a haunting truth,

Of all the pain that we've been through.

The mirror shows the scars we hide,

The tears we've shed, the pain inside,

It captures every broken heart,

And tears us further, apart.

So we pick up each tiny piece,

And try to make the pain decrease,

But even as we glue it back,

We know that something we lack.

For though the mirror may be whole,

It still shows us our troubled soul,

And in its shattered fragments, we see,

A reflection of what we used to be.
