The Bridge
I feel you like a River...

The Precipice of change
Just as the world tilts forward:
Heart thud, gut drop
Breathing stops, pupils flare.
The Bridge.
“Meet me there.”
You said.
Head swims, mouth dry,
Earth shifts as I stand on
This side...
Nothing will remain
As it was before.
Time stops, water flows,
Dizzy as I look below.
One step will propel me
Into a future unknown.
I hear your footfall, waterfall
Twigs snap, no going back...
A few steps here to there
Across the planks and misty air
Into the mystery we will share.
