The boy did more than cry for the wolf
The boy told the truth and was scolded for such
The boy was terrified and adults said shush
The boy could have died but he lives on
So his parents made the boy go to school
To learn what he could and not what he couldn’t
He was still too focused on the wolf to pay attention
Always on the edge until his teacher mentioned
His name to answer a difficult question
He wasn’t ready for it and..
*ding ding ding*
Saved by the
..Bell?
Except it was bullets ricocheting against metal lockers
The teacher told them to get undercover
Everything happened so fast the boy didn’t have much time to react
Before the wolf slammed his hand against the door the teacher went to close
It took less than a second for her brains to be on the floor
His peers in a corner looking in horror
All the boy wanted was his mother
The wolf beared his teeth ready to be seen
It was no longer a cry, it was a plead
That no one got to hear this time
Because all of those little lives
Ceased to exist once the wolf got what it wanted
If only someone listened from the start then
We wouldn’t be here
Where this has become normal
Where people think thoughts and prayers for what this wolf did will stop another one from doing what they’re bred
If you teach hate, expect the innocent to die
If you teach love, maybe these kids wouldn’t have to hide
From big bad humans
How many times does a boy have to cry
Before you favor their life over the wolf’s right?
