The Boy That CameFrom NoWhere

The Boy That Came from Nowhere

and Wished Upon a Star

He walked alone where no names grew,

past quiet streets the night once knew,

no footprints laid, no home to find,

just shadows trailing far behind.

He carried nothing, spoke no lie,

his pockets bare, his throat run dry,

yet still he stopped beneath the dark,

and whispered soft to some lost spark.

A single star, so cold, so clear,

it caught his voice, it drew him near,

he didn’t ask for gold or fame,

he only spoke his mother’s name.

And somewhere far beyond the sky,

beyond the silence where stars die,

something listened, something stayed,

though no reply was ever made.

He walked on still, his path unknown,

a boy with nowhere to call home,

but in his chest, that whispered plea

burned quietly, enough for me.

    Nicely done, Marie. Hauntingly beautiful.

Sad and comforting at the same time. Another good job.

  • Hauntingly tender and beautifully written. The quiet ache of belonging and the power of a single whispered hope stayed with me long after reading.
