Too long we’ve been awaiting,

And now just one more fortnight,

‘Fore the plans we’re creating,

Are finally aflight.

Stomach churns with butterflies,

That grow as time allows,

‘Til our love is glorified,

This commitment we’ll avow.

AN: This is one of the poems that was wildly different from the song whose title inspired it. It's not my favourite of the series, but it was a fun exercise in trying different poetry styles.

I was so excited and then saw it’s song inspired 😂

When does the event eclipse the love it celebrates? I love the undertones of this poem, but can’t decide if the butterflies are the consequence of concern for the success of the event itself or the love they will publicly avow. It feels open-ended, like life. Really well done!

  • True words of love, Kelsey. A beautiful poem!
