The bitterest pill
Belief in ‘mind’ professionals,
Blind trust, in their learning,
Can lead to dystopian views,
If you’re not being discerning.
Indeed, the rhetoric of research,
Whose funders deny,
That, conclusion’s the reason,
Realised before work begins.
This fallacy, a propagation,
By those that seek profit,
Over well-being not root cause,
The byword of economics.
The catastrophe, initiates,
As we follow without question,
Hypothesis of, big corporations,
Bent on finance not real healing.
Treat the supposed symptoms,
Ignoring the cause, reaps,
Quantifiable monetary rewards.
Unilateral shareholder applause.
The link between health,
Has been hacked, it’s nefarious,
The pharmacist gains, cash…
As physician’s prescribes again.
The nature of being, contains,
Highs and lows, this doesn’t,
Suit industry, who require us,
To work. The dichotomy of life.
To put it in terms, that humans,
Absorb. The forces, enforcing,
That ‘dis-orders don’t function’,
Need only labour, no conscience.
The bitterest pills, are those,
Marked invalid, don’t swallow,
This diatribe to your detriment.
Rather accept, we are a balance.
A delicate chemical, electro-
Mechanical machine. Don’t,
Sabotage, this fantastical,
Being. For short term agendas.
A true misdemeanour, as
Serotonin and dopamine,
Our emotional fluids, fluxing,
Our internal tidal flow. Feelings.
To meddle with chemicals,
With no inner/understanding,
Is to dilute the mindfulness,
Sentience relies upon.
Instead of remedies, potions,
Of poison, delivered to systems,
The doctors can’t comprehend.
Complexity of diagnostic flaws.
Open your self to ‘the’ rational,
Need, it’s difficult, when we,
Don’t succeed. Yet, the bottle,
Of tablets, to keep us from sad.
Is simply an agent, a fiscal,
Prognostic. Nought medicinal,
Is proven to alter depression.
Maybe it’s the human condition.
