The best spot ever

A poem about my love. It is only with him that I feel "at home"

By Mollie HarrisonPublished 4 years ago 1 min read

The end of the day has come

a long day of hiking

an emotional day at work

a day of tough trials

Breathe…

all my stress melts away.

Where we are

what we have done

what needs to be done

Breathe...

none of it matters.

Your eyes shine golden

when I walk through the door

in your presence

in your gaze

Breathe...

I find my peace.

Together we craft dumplings

rolling the dough

in rhythm with the music

we fold them carefully

as we sing in unison

Breathe...

I feel happiness.

We lay in bed

you lift your arm

invite me in

I curl into the hairy pit

rest my head on your chest

the warmth of your skin against my cheek

the gentle pulse of your heart in my ear

Breathe...

your scent fills my nose.

Like a sip of tea

my muscles relax

warmth settles within me

Breathe...

I feel safe.

My hand upon your stomach

fiddling with your hair

your arms so tight around me

you caress my hand

Breathe...

the softest touch.

A gentile pressure on my head

your loving kiss

Breathe...

I am loved.

Nothing else matters

in this moment

I am calm

comfortable

cared for

this is my favorite spot

Breathe...

this is my home.
