A Poem about the Demon Inside Us All
This poem is about a person who has a demon inside of them that tries to influence them to make negative choices. The demon encourages them to be angry, selfish, and cruel, but the person tries to resist these urges and do what is right. It is a constant struggle for the person to keep the demon within them in check and be the person they want to be.
There's a demon within me, deep in my soul
It whispers in my ear and takes control
It tells me all the things that I should do
It begs me to let go and give into you

It's a voice that's always there, it never fades
It tells me to be angry, to lash out and hate
It wants me to be selfish and take what I need
It wants me to be cruel and make others bleed
***
But I try to ignore it, I try to be strong
I try to do what's right, even when it's wrong
I try to be good, to be kind and pure
I try to keep the demon within me obscured
***
It's a constant battle, a never-ending fight
But I won't let it win, I won't give in to the night
I'll keep on trying, keep on striving to be
The person I want to be, and not the demon inside of me
