The Bagpipes Play A Sad Tune
For all who left never to return

The Bagpipes Play A Sad Tune
The bagpipes play a sad sad tune
it cuts the air at break of noon
a voice of hills, of fields long bare
calling hearts that once were there
The road is still, the sky turned grey
as lonely pipes begin to sway
no marching feet, no cheering cries
just fading steps and hollow skies
The bagpipes play, and hearts recall
the quiet graves beyond the wall
where names once shouted in the rain
lie silent now with all their pain
And still they play, and still they cry
for all who left and never said why
a sad sad tune, too sharp, too deep
it stirs the ones who dared not weep

They sure do play a sorrowful and soulful tune, but also, they are quite soothing in a way if one thinks about it. Good job.
