The Astrologer

a poem

By Khalil WoodsPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

There was an astrologer

Stargazing for new moons

Desperate but wholesome

Finding a lucid light

The screen was clouded

And the oceans flooded the views

Only in the evening night.

His toes were still engraved

And gravely cemented

We watch them levitate

{}

He was an astrologer

Pondering brave in the sky

He conjured a telescope

Indeed, he watched

The stars twinkle,

Breathing through the vapes.

He ignited the tank and flew,

And in solace the earth shrunk down.

Was he all screwed?

Did he listen to the echoes?

{}

I've been an astrologer,

Breaking mounds for a build,

Building homes with steel

Titanium with proof glass.

I've waded through the mockingbirds

Chasing a spectrum of sounds.

I found a thread

Weaved from the gold mine.

Lavish in texture,

Warm for the bent needle.
