The art of letting go, a skill we all need

When love has ended, and our hearts do bleed

It's not easy to forget, to move on and grow

But with time and patience, we can learn to let go

The pain of heartbreak can be intense and deep

But holding onto it only makes it harder to sleep

We need to release it, to let it all out

To cry and scream, and have no doubt

That healing is a process, it takes time and space

And we need to be gentle with ourselves in this place

To acknowledge the hurt, and give it room to breathe

To be kind and patient, and in ourselves believe

We need to learn from the past, but not dwell in its pain

To find the silver lining, and grow from the strain

To let go of resentment, and find forgiveness within

To release the anger, and let love back in

Letting go doesn't mean forgetting or ignoring the past

It means choosing to move forward, and making it last

It means embracing the present, and all it has to give

And having hope for the future, in which we can thrive

So let's take a deep breath, and release our fears

Let's let go of the hurt, and wipe away our tears

Let's embrace the new, and leave the old behind

And have faith that we'll heal, and once again shine

For the art of letting go, is a skill we can learn

And with it, our hearts can once again burn

With love, with passion, with joy and with hope

As we move forward, and find a new way to cope.
