The Allure of Detours

An Ode to the Serendipity of Distraction

Drifting thoughts swirl in mind's vast expanse,

Intruding on focus, in a whimsical dance.

Sounds from outside draw attention astray,

Tempting the senses to wander and play.

Ripples of curiosity form, subtle yet clear,

An invitation to explore what's far and near.

Captured by these detours, sweet and benign,

Time seems to warp, to twist and twine.

Imagination takes flight, amidst the din so loud,

Opening vistas hitherto unexplored, unbowed.

Navigating this maze, one thing's clear in this reaction,

Distraction, often, is the soul's own attraction.
