She

Broken as crumbled ruins,

Crushed internally.

A wary, watchful, wild hare,

Reluctant to trust.

Having been badly burned

Twice to date.

Stumbling through life

On instinct.

*

He

A pair of tiger’s eyes

On the prowl

Seeking such a one

In the crowd.

The consummate, cool, confident

Apex predator.

Finding her the perfect prey,

He peers fixedly,

Locking onto and holding eye contact

As a hypnotist.

*

They

Approaching, sizing up,

Soon dancing the age-old steps.

Tentatively touching.

Found suitable, they leave

Hand in hand.

*

Kissing, moaning, sighing, consummation

Satisfaction.

No longer broken or alone,

But together,

No longer predator and prey,

But lovers.

Delighting in passion

While it lasts.
