Thatching...ants

Black and red,

dragging tree needles,

mounding higher and higher,

cleaning the forest floor -

mounds high as a man,

at bases of trees and

among ferns -

they are busy

ants

not busy bees

ants marching

loudly, at work

busy

ants

a buzzing colony of

thatching ants
