That What If Moment

We all have them in the name of love

There's always that what if-

This "who knows" running through my mind

Though I've met my someone,

I still thought you were the one.

My dreams are not helping,

my imagination has gone awry.

These memories of you and I,

have haunted my waking life.

I was so heartbroken;

wondered what all I did wrong.

Until I realize it's what I did right

to scare you this so far away.

I questioned who I could be for you,

then realized I was just too good.

I say "what if" as if an option,

but I am the best option you'll ever have.

That "what if" moment is all we got,

to remind us of two things:

In the name of love, do you love yourself?

Or will love walk all over you forever?
