That man and me!

Love not meant to be

By Vince HallPublished 4 years ago 1 min read

That man and me

I once had a love, such a special love

It was a love that I was so proud of

His love came to me oh so easily

Just as losing it was meant to be.

I loved that man and he was my friend

I prayed our love would never end

He gave his word, yes he promised me

That whatever came, forever friends we’d be.

I would take his hand and hold it tight

I‘d hold him close all through the night

Though could it be, for him, it wasn’t right

For like a bird, that man took flight.

Now the years have come and the years have gone

Yet my love for him still goes on and on

For in my heart the flame still burns you see

But I wonder does he even think of me

Some people have said, ‘forget about that man’

Some people have said, ‘move on while you can’

Some people have said I was too blind to see

That a love like that could never ever be

My friends now say that I should close the book

And to never go back, not even for one look

They say in time that I will forget

They may be right, oh but not just yet.

Now it’s been a time since I saw his face.

No other man could ever take his place

So I won’t forget and I can’t move on

For I remember still all we said and done.

.

I loved that man and he was my friend

I hoped and prayed our love would never end

For he gave his word, yes he promised me

That whatever came, forever friends we’d be

That man and me, that man and me.
