We live in a time of awkwardness,
Awkward situations, some big, some small... happening around us,
We search for any way to undermine, or shine a torch of ridicule,
Maybe I'm just cynical, but I feel I’m in a cubical in the middle of an office block of mocking, talking, tweeting, fleeting imbeciles, firing misfiled missiles of mistaken facts and news, dropping awkward clues in a swarm of miscommunicated truths,
The bigger man prevails, pointing fingers, while the bitter taste lingers.
Hinders our ability to make choices,
Our reason to rejoice is that we all make mistakes;
Annoying things like pulling a door that says "push",
Soul destroying things like falling drunken into a bush,
Thinking there's one more step but unexpectedly tripping with no ledge to be found,
Strange faces,
Tripping over laces,
Politicians running our country into the ground...
But what if we stopped all this,
Right on the precipice,
If the world were no longer a place of insecurities, lies and judgemental eyes,
Where a person can look to the skies and not fear what they might hear from the what's, where's and whys.
Imagine a place where no one would care,
Where the air was something that lead people to dare to laugh in the face of and embrace awkwardness, I'm advocating this awesomeness,
no bullshit, no deceit,
No awkward moments of uncertainty,
No people carelessly,
Harmfully hiding the truth,
Ignoring the proof,
No waiting or debating what's coming next,
just knowing and showing,
Moving forward constantly, honestly and taking the time to show people how you really feel,
and it's real and everyone gets the same deal,
Politicians exposed,
Evil minds revealed,
We could dump a fat lump of Trump straight in to his chauvinistic mine field,
A man who discriminates through lies he preaches, could maybe be impeached through the sinful teachings that he teaches,
Inner demons stripped back and peeled,
Imagine.. Every word true,
Expose your heart,
And start to build a life with no part hidden through jealousy or lies,
Everything out in the open,
And I'm hoping that we can reopen people's eyes,
I'm done with these awkward times,
And confusing climbs,
Deceitful crimes,
Because I would live a thousand lifetimes to not see these moments appear,
Our nations are wobbling around on ice rinks and we need to vacate and eradicate before this ship sinks, or we need to swim in the sun and accept what we've done,
Power to the awkwardness,
We have to ride these things out,
Embrace our differences and eradicate doubt,
Change is coming whether we like it or not.
Live for the awkward moments, for these are the moments of honesty, the moments of humanity, dive in to the diamond perplexity of this awkward ocean we've earned, unchartered waters are where lessons are learned.
