Text Messages
Who you texting?

It’s 3:09 and my eye starts twitching
You’ve been distant
You love me or not?
I’m speaking in 3 dimensions
I have to ask you today yesterday and tomorrow
I like ice in my drinks
Today we enjoyed laughter
Pour me another
Yesterday you met him
This is when it cuts deeper
Tomorrow you have a plan to do secret favors
I hope you got a band-aid.
It’s 3:42 and I’m bloody
You’ve been distant
You love me or not?
I’m speaking in 3 dimensions
I have to ask you morning afternoon and night
Roll me one
Morning is boring I’m laying on my side
Roll me another
Afternoon you left the room
Lighting up both at the same time
Night you’re holding tight to his might
I’m in our bedroom blowing dust.
It’s 4:18 and I’m shaking
You’ve been distant
You love me or not?
I’m speaking in 3 dimensions
I have to ask you past present and future
Old mushrooms tide in a ziplock bag
Past we made love
I guess I’ll eat one
Present you’re not present
I guess I’ll have another
Future is torture stuck in mockery
My body on the floor
It’s 4:30 and I finally put your phone down
You are nothing like your text messages.

You are a phenomenal poet. Your poetry is haunting. I especially love the repetition here. You did it so effectively, I wondered if this might be a song, an entry for the Harmonic Verses challenge. You have an incredibly unique style. Compelling. ⚡💙⚡
