Tethered Weather

Volume I

By Nicole D'AvanzoPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

Swelled clouds carried the weight of unshed tears and for years, it’s gathered.

Thick skin and high winds of criticism raise the bumps of fear, then scatters.

A twister of love and desire caught in the crossfire of what is truth and what is thought,

trembling trees in an avalanche of unease to appease the lie it bought.

Volcanic depths erupt to a surface with brimming confidence, a storm begins.

Salted waters boil around a lone island of persistence, masking with a grin.

Lava lakes of mistakes set a precedence of what comes after.

Winds of hot salt and wet sands create land, perceptively a natural disaster.

It wills to find solace in strength, raging wildfires burn the urge of relief.

Subtle glances of ash-soaked rains cries to deny its waves of grief.

A mudslide of buried emotions roar through gritted teeth,

It saturated forests and foliage over a cliff, destiny’s leap.

Words are lost when they are said to the brisk skies protected by the wind,

A free fall into unknown waters, a safety of heart too late to rescind.

Mountains and canyons gleaming with love and loss,

Their rough ridges hold bridges at the lengths that they exhaust.

Ecosystems within another all intertwined with life,

A symbiotic relationship eternally engulfing paradise.
