Temporary Rejection

poetry from a healing poet

By KianPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

I wasn't yours then,

But the Devil's.

I sold myself lies relentlessly

Telling myself you didn't love me

That you couldn't

I sold the lies

For a price of faux ignorance

You scared me

He scared me

I was dead either way I chose

I told you lies

If we ever were to

Be one another's

Thought "maybe lies are a deterrent"

We both knew I never meant them

I never meant the cruel words

That fell from my lips

not a single syllable

I sold everyone lies

Not believing that

You could love me

And yet, how wrong was I?

- Why I said no

at first to you
