Your heart pours out,
While your chest is ripped open
Tell your heart to beat again
Command your lungs to expand
Don’t rely on some machine to force air in and out
Just breathe, just breathe
A tear pushes past your tight shut eyes
Your hand gives mine a small squeeze
I’m not giving up,
My world is falling apart,
Shattered, like never before
From glass to sand,
I cannot be repaired
Hold on and don’t let go
As I’m pushed out of the room,
I hear the flatline, as the doctor calls code blue
My body shakes and aches uncontrollably
I drop to my knees and beg and plead with God to release you back to me
They compress your heart again and again,
Can you feel anything, are you coming through?!
Tell your heart to beat again,
Just breathe, if only just once, just breathe
C’mon let me hear your heartbeat go boom boom,
Let the rhythm vibrate through your body
As if it were an alarm, a defibrillator
Please just breathe, just breathe
Do not allow your ears to be deafened by silence,
Please make the machine go beep, beep
Tell your heart to beat again,
Just breathe, just breathe

Wow... I lived this in 2022. Only they shut the alarms off. And right after Mike died, I saw him walk away from me down a road- perfectly healthy and younger. That was a life-changer for me. Thank you for sharing this ❤️
