Tell Me A Lie

Grains of truth

By Amber HughesPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

Tell me a lie

So much you set about to conceal

Facts are only facts

Deception is how the truth is revealed

Speak to me fool

From every word I will discern

What drives you, what scares you

The one you hate, the one for whom you yearn

Truth on the ground

Can't beat a fib from the branch of a tree

A story woven from whole cloth

Shows me exactly who you want to be

The Devil is in the details, he's ashamed, they say

when in the interest of truth, creativity, you forsake

Nothing is learned that wasn't already known.

Dejected and disappointed... exit the snake.
