Tears of the Cherry Trees
A Reflection on Life's Resilience and Transience
Amongst the cherry trees,
They weep in shades of pink,
Cracks in concrete cleave the ground,
Leaving barren spaces untamed.
Their tears dissolve,
Mourning the voids on jagged edges,
Like acid consuming life,
In endless barren lands.
Yet, there,
Amidst ruins and silence,
Lies unexpected life,
Concealing thorns behind false smiles.
Unforgettable by the wind,
Longed for secretly,
In bright morning's embrace,
With sunbeams caressing,
Birds' melodious dance,
And the tempting aroma of coffee.
The withered cherry tree,
Reflects an unsaid heart,
Without water to nourish life,
They wither, untouched by mercy.
Concrete slabs sink into oblivion,
Unless they grumble and grind,
Their stubborn teeth,
Against unforgiving time.
As I tread upon pink petals,
They cry, yet not like me,
For their tears,
Are a sign of life continuing to spin.
